What is a domain name?
Think of your domain name as your online address. The domain name you choose becomes the location of your business and the address your customers will use to find you on the Internet. PRIMUS enables you to register a domain name for one to ten years, all at reduced costs. Our Domain Name Service (DNS) gives you the ability to type in a name, such as "www. (YOUR DOMAIN NAME CHOICE HERE). com" and choose your domain.

A registered domain name gives your site instant credibility. It provides a consistent point-of-access for your existing customers and leads new customers to your site.
What can I do with my domain name once it is registered?
You can use your registered domain name right away as your online address for your new web site or e-commerce store. Or, you can wait to use your name by "Parking" it with PRIMUS.
How do I register a domain name with PRIMUS.com?

How long will it take to access my domain name?
U.S. registration
The online registration process takes minutes to complete. Your domain name will be accessible on the Internet in 48 to 72 hours.
Foreign registration
If you are in a foreign country, this process could take up to *four days, depending on the country's registry process.
*Domain names are registered by a country's registry on a first-come first-serve basis. However, in the event that the cc-TLD registry has not yet updated and an attempt was made to register a recently registered domain name, the attempted registration will be rejected. We will refund the registration fees for rejected cc-TLD registrations if the domain name is taken.
Can another person register my domain name after I've registered it?
No. Once you're registered your domain name, it goes into a universal database of available domain names. If another company tries to register your name their attempt will be rejected. This prevents your domain name from being registered by another company.
Once a domain name is registered, who is the legal registrant of the domain name?
When you register your domain name with PRIMUS, you as the "registrant" contract the use of your domain name. You will always be a contact for your DNS service even if you change or add another contact later. Our systems record the original "registrant" information at the time you order our DNS service.
How do I view/change DNS information?
Log in to framework using ADMIN account. (See Logging into PRIMUS Accounts under FAQs)
